Irina Alimanestianu is an artist and writer currently based in Venice, California where she lives with her two sons. Her paintings have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York, and her critical writings on art and artists published in such publications as Art Issues and Zing Magazine. In 1997 she received a Pamela Peabody Fellowship and the following year was included in the group exhibitions "LA Current: Looking at the Light, 3 Generations of LA Artists" at the Hammer Museum of Art and "Six Emerging Artists" at the Dan Bernier Gallery, both in Los Angeles. Her work was most recently included in the "3-D Painting" exhibition at the Peggy Phelps Gallery, Claremont, CA., David Pagel, curator. She has a BFA from New York University, a MBA from Columbia University, and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University. She was born in Nyack NY and raised in New York and Switzerland.
